1- "Optoelectronics and Photonics: Principles and Practices" by S.O.Kasap
An excellent book for deep understanding of the physics of light, solid-state physics and optoelectronic devices (photovoltaics, photodetectors and laser devices).
With hands-on exercises to get more analytical view of the devices operation and design.
The book has a narrative style to explain the complicated solid-state theories and devices operation.
It's recommended as a supporting light-weight material for both the undergraduates and post-graduates.

2- " Applied Photovoltaics" - 2nd edition
To get started with the practical aspects of solar cells design, installations and fabrication.
It rides you to the recent manufacturing approaches and the problems encountered for the large scale production. A personal view; it's an ideal training material for getting started in a PV job - if any !
enjoy ;)
